About HomeFree Care

HomeFree is on a mission to redefine homecare

HomeFree’s Medically-Supervised Homecare™ program is designed to solve the problems faced by clients, families, and the healthcare system. Our mission is to keep our clients thriving at home for life by providing facility-level care in the home. In doing so, we make staying home possible when it may have previously been thought impossible.
We guarantee caregiver burnout relief, so families can focus on being family again.
Our Story

From frustration to purpose

HomeFree was created to solve a problem our founders saw every day: too many seniors and medically complex adults were being forced into hospitals, assisted living, or long-term care because the support needed to remain safely at home simply didn't exist.
As an emergency physician, Dr. Charles Wong witnessed families struggling to navigate a fragmented healthcare system while coordinating care for loved ones at home. Traditional homecare services often focused on isolated tasks rather than delivering truly integrated, proactive care. Most importantly, there was little meaningful physician involvement in the home, leaving many complex medical issues unrecognized until they resulted in complications.
Together with experienced business leaders Jeff Noble and Mack Andrews, Dr. Wong founded HomeFree to create a better alternative. Our award-winning, nation-leading Medically-Supervised Homecare™ model combines physician oversight, nursing, rehabilitation, personal care, and daily living support into one coordinated team dedicated to helping people thrive at home.

Driven by our four Core Values

When Mack, Jeff, and Charles joined forces to solve one of our health system’s most vexing problems, they asked: “what sort of team do we need to solve the complex problems that the traditional health system cannot fix?”. Our Core Values underscore our approach to healthcare and every problem we encounter:

Human-Centeredness

We put people first, treating every client, family member, and colleague with empathy, dignity, and genuine compassion.

Ownership

We take personal responsibility for outcomes, proactively solving problems and following through on our commitments.

Excellence

We hold ourselves to the highest standards, continuously striving to deliver exceptional care, service, and results.

Ingenuity

We embrace creativity and innovation, finding better ways to solve challenges and improve the lives of those we serve.
By hiring for, promoting, and rewarding these behaviours, we believe we are unlocking a way of doing healthcare that patients and families both crave and deserve.
Our core values are translated into our Service Declaration.

HomeFree owners, managers, and caregivers share one thing in common: a personal dedication to helping clients and families thrive at home for life.
Executive Leadership
Mack Andrews
Co-Founder and General Manager

Mack is an engineer and serial founder, but at his core he's curious about how things work, and in homecare, why they so often don't. What drew him in was how badly the industry treats the people doing the work, and how that creates terrible care.

Time and again he met caregivers who wanted nothing more than to care for others and who consistently put their clients' needs above their own, only to be burnt out, disenfranchised, and reduced to a checklist by past employers. His answer is simple: let great caregivers do what they love.

That means building systems that make HomeFree the best caregiving job in the market, one that attracts and keeps the top 1% of caregivers and delivers the absolute best care.

Paula Guillaume, LPN
Care Manager

Paula became invested in homecare 18 years ago after seeing the lack of options available for her aging family. She spent her career advocating for her community to get the care they deserve. Believing that aging doesn’t mean ending up in a facility, Paula’s passion to educate aligned perfectly to end up at HomeFree.

A mother of four, grandmother to two, Paula has a large, close knit family that keeps her busy and enjoying the world. Around the community she is an avid golfer, competitive curler and volunteer at local theatres. Paula feels the most at home on a dirt road heading to the mountains or on a warm beach with the ocean at her feet.
